The third-place match, held at Cairo’s 30 June Stadium, was a closely contested affair, ending 1-1 after regular time. With no extra time allocated, the outcome was decided by penalties, where the Flying Eagles showcased remarkable composure, claiming their fifth bronze medal in U-20 AFCON history.

Clinton Jephta, Precious Benjamin, and Israel Ayuma tested the Egyptian goalkeeper, but it was Nigeria who managed to level the score, forcing the match into a penalty shootout.
