LAGOS – Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has held a closed-door meeting with former Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, and cleric Pastor Tunde Bakare in Lagos.
The meeting, which has sparked speculation about El-Rufai’s political future, was revealed by his media adviser, Muyiwa Adekeye, on Sunday.
Aregbesola, a former two-term Osun State Governor, recently left the All Progressives Congress (APC) following a prolonged internal crisis in the party’s Osun State chapter.
Bakare, a renowned cleric and former APC presidential aspirant, is known for his outspoken views on governance and national issues.
El-Rufai’s meeting with the two influential figures comes just days after his visit to former President Muhammadu Buhari in Kaduna.
The former governor’s presence in Lagos has fueled speculation about his political plans ahead of the 2027 elections.
